About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead the clinical strategy for medical affairs, quality, and medical management. The CMO will be accountable for building and sustaining programs that drive innovative approaches to improve outcomes for members. This includes care management oversight, quality and STAR rating improvements, appropriate utilization, health system transformation, and the implementation of medical programs and policies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for enhancing relationships with providers and facilities, industry policy advocacy, and engaging with regulatory agencies. Candidates for the CMO position at the company must have an MD or DO degree, with a preference for primary care specialties, and be licensed in the state of Texas. A minimum of 12 years of clinical experience, with at least 5 years in an administrative role within managed care, is required. The role demands a leader with a strong background in strategic vision, execution of clinical initiatives, and a proven track record in driving excellent results in clinical affordability, quality, population health, and growth. The CMO will also be responsible for managing a team of medical directors, and other clinical staff, and must possess exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills. A master's degree in public health, business administration, or medical administration is preferred, and previous experience in Medicaid managed care is a plus.
