The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating and preparing an accurate cost estimate of labor, materials, and equipment for the full construction span of a project.

Responsibilities

• Determine detailed cost estimates for planned specifications and determine overall project requirements
• Prepare estimates for the quantity take-off on each project
• Generate trade lists, draft bid invites, and track progress on each project to ensure coverage for required trades and materials
• Understand pricing impact based on external factors such as labor, material, and weather
• Review and provide support on bid solicitations
• Develop strong relationships with qualified subcontractors
• Collaborate with the Project Management team through the estimating process
• Identify any risk factors that may impact the original project scope
• Research and evaluate potential new projects on prospecting websites and newspapers
• Conduct site visits for the potential new projects

Qualifications

• 5+ years minimum of experience with strong communications skills
• 4-yr college degree  preferred , high school diploma required
• Ability to read and understand construction documents
• Have full depth knowledge of construction trades
• Complete understanding of construction regulations, procedures, and building codes
• Strong with Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Outlook, Planwell, and BidMail
• Extensive knowledge of the bid process and contract delivery
• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving history
