For a bedridden client requiring 24/7 care, the caregiver’s main responsibilities include personal care and hygiene, such as assisting with bathing, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness, including changing diapers or underpads. They must also monitor the client's health by tracking vital signs, assisting with reminders for prescribed medications, and observing any changes in the client condition. Positioning and ensuring comfort is crucial, with regular repositioning to prevent bedsores and providing emotional support and companionship. The caregiver is also responsible for assisting with feeding and hydration, preparing meals, and ensuring the client receives proper nutrition and fluids. Lastly, ensuring safety and maintaining a clean household environment is important, including managing laundry and coordinating with family members and healthcare professionals for ongoing care.
