CV Resources has partnered with a highly respected educational institution to recruit a Staff/Senior Accountant for a full-time, permanent opportunity. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of four days onsite each week in Eugene, OR . We’re seeking an experienced accounting professional with a strong foundation in financial reporting, budget management, and compliance. This individual will play a key role in overseeing general ledger activity, leading reconciliation efforts, supporting capital planning, and guiding process improvements across the institution’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:Administer and maintain the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations across key accounts.
Support annual and long-term budgeting processes, including capital outlay tracking and reporting to stakeholders.
Oversee cleanup and reconciliation of accrued payables, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.
Analyze financial data and assist in preparing internal and external reports, including audit documentation and funding agency submissions.
Evaluate and enhance accounting policies, recommend procedural improvements, and support system and workflow updates.
Serve as a liaison between finance, academic departments, and external agencies, representing the institution in budget discussions and program evaluations.
Coordinate and supervise project coordinators, administrative staff, student workers, and volunteers—delegating tasks, setting priorities, and providing training as needed.
Maintain high standards of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial and student information in accordance with FERPA and other compliance requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial analysis, reconciliations, and budgeting.
Previous experience in a higher education or government-funded environment is a strong plus.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), along with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative setting.
