A REMOTE Safety Engineer position is available through TriMech Services. As the safety engineer, you will work under the direction of the Systems Engineer/Principal Engineer in developing test plans.

Job Requirements:

• Create and maintain the systems engineering (SE) approach to eliminating hazards where possible and minimizing risks where those hazards cannot be eliminated. MIL-STD 882E
• Create and maintain a System Safety Program Plan (SSPP).
• Create and maintain a Safety Critical Items (SCI) List.
• Create and maintain a Hazard Tracking System (HTS)
• Create, implement, and maintain a Hazardous Materials Management Program (HMMP).
• Create and maintain a Hazardous Management Plan (HMP).
• Create and maintain a Hazard Log database.
• Communicate information clearly to end users.
• Collect source data as required through either internal or vendor sources.
• Support verification with the customer as required

Skillset Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in an engineering-related field with 5 years of experience, including a successful track record as a safety engineer. OR master’s degree with 3 years of experience, including a successful track record as a safety engineer.
• Experience in the application of MIL-STD 882E in design development.
• Experience in the generation of required artifacts such as System Safety Program Plans (SSPP), Systems Safety Analysis Reports, and Functional Hazards Analysis Reports
• Experience in applying safety principles and methods to mature the weapons systems design for safety and support flight test and flightworthiness of complex systems.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification a plus
• Experience implementing and following MIL-STD-882E
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees, and managers at all company levels.

This is a 3-6 month contract with possible extension offering generous benefits, holiday pay, paid time off, and a company-sponsored retirement plan.
